The Trust will work in partnership with the head teachers of each school to ascertain the type of toilet that would be best suited for the pupils in the longer term as the need to take responsibility for maintaining the facility and ensuring that appropriate teaching is offered to the pupils rests with them.
Thomas Peters and Regent primary schools, will have their school toilets rebuilt this year (early 2011), by the generosity of a new donor. The cost of the toilets, used by teachers and pupils, including building materials and labour is approximately £2,290.31 for Regent School and £2,347.69 for Thomas Peters School. This will alieviate the concerns relating to hygiene, health and safety issues identified by the Trust.
The estimated cost to develop a primary school to an appropriate learning environment is between £25-35,000 per school.
