The most recent distribution to primary and secondary schools took place in May 2008. With the help of an enthusiastic team of volunteers (read more) led by Doreen Ferguson. The goods had been in storage at the Freetown Secondary School for Girls for several months and the volunteers unpacked, sorted and re-packaged a selection for each school. Books, pencils, pens, computers, scanners, toys, chairs, etc. were given to over 30 schools in the Western Area. The teachers and pupils were delighted with these unexpected educational resources and we hope that they will be able to make good use of them. For example, the books were for both reading for pleasure and education. The academic books included language texts (French, German, Spanish and Dutch); physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and home economics.
The teachers and pupils were delighted with these unexpected educational resources and we hope that they will be able to make good use of them in furthering education of the young people.
